TIMELINE
The Hellenic Shipyards of Perama (H.S.O.P.) , ex-
E.E.G.E., was founded in 1963 and acquired in 1991.
By '91 the yard’s work included repairs, modifications
and some constructions of small commercial vessels.
Following the acquisition of the shipyard , the work was
expanded in order to meet the increased
demand of the
market.
During this period there were several modifications of some
reefer vessels, which were re-designed and
built for loading pallets. At the same time the yard
performed all kinds of ship repairs.
The next target of the yard was to proceed with
repairing and refitting yachts. In 1996 shipyard invested in
relevant infrastructure and purchased equipment to achieve
this goal. The project was completed with great success and
the yard now is globally recognized in this field, with a
long list of yachts which every year prefer H.S.O.P.
for their dry-docking
and maintenance period.
As part of the continuous improvement and development
, the shipyard has recently completed
an extensive modification of a cruise ship,
174 meters long. This
project perhaps was certainly one of the largest
modification projects which has been made in recent years in
our country.
Driven by the shipyard’s great vision, the building of
a 61 meters yacht has begun and is in progress in its
premises, with high European standards.
